ABOUT THE BLOG
Hi, my name is Mandi. I've been married for 14 years to my amazing husband Scott, and we have three gorgeous fur babies, Billie-Jean , Macy and Molloy. Both my husband and I were raised in the beautiful South Island of New Zealand and made the move to Australia to study in 2007, and we haven't left!
I work full time as a primary school teacher and am a lover of Christ and all things natural. But, I haven't always been into all things natural.
Back in about 2008/2009, my husband came across a TED talk which highlighted how our environment can impact our health. It brought home to me the importance of what I eat, and the products I use on my body and in my home. Ever since watching that video, I have been on a journey of replacing chemicals with natural products to create the safest and healthiest home I can.
This journey was also spurred on by finances. I was a student working part time, and then not working at all in my final semester of study, and my husband had a very average paying job. Going the homemade route, not only meant more natural products, but saving lots of money. The benefits just keep rolling in!
Going the natural homemade way is a slow journey, one step at a time. I didn't start by just throwing everything out and intensively making every single thing from scratch straight away. Some may think I'm crazy, but I'm not that crazy! I started by replacing things with a natural alternative as they ran out. Some things I've only really got to experimenting with in the past year. It's a continual journey that I love.
I hope you will join me on the journey to a safer, healthier, and more frugal way of life.
